Greetings Parents and Students,
We welcome you to Roosevelt Elementary School, home of the Bear Cub! For those of you who are new to the Roosevelt Family, we are thrilled that you will be joining our school community.
To ensure that students are present in school and are given every educational opportunities, we strongly encourage them to maintain acceptable attendance, which includes being punctual to school. Letters will be issued for tardiness and excessive absenteeism. Please continue to instill the importance of coming to school daily and being on time! If students are ill, a doctor’s note must be provided in order to excuse the absence. Please view the website for Attendance Policy under the Parents tab.

Celebrating National Engineering Week (NEW)
In recognition of National Engineering Week, which is February 19th through the 25th, Roosevelt School students will participate in a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities with professional engineers. Some of these projects will include creating a catapult using Popsicle sticks and spoons, and designing a car racer using rubber bands, straws, and bottle caps. The day of activities, February 24th, will help students to use their creativity and knowledge in a hands-on manner.
Random Acts of Kindness Week
February 13 – February 17
Fine and Roosevelt will celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week by choosing to do some of the following activities:
-Decorate a heart that shows ways to be kind. These hearts will be displayed on a bulletin board near the front entrance of each school.
-Write a Thank You Note to a teacher, friend, or staff member.
-Make cards for the Genesis House in Pennsauken, or a retirement home
-Make cards/notes for Veterans in Military Hospitals
-Color kind word art to display in classrooms or in the hallway
-Color A Smile Drawing - Color A Smile is a nonprofit organization, where volunteers of all ages and abilities, create cheerful crayon drawings. Every month Color A Smile distributes thousands of these colorful masterpieces to Senior Citizens, Our Troops Overseas, and anyone in need of a smile.
-Complete the Random Acts of Kindness Board as a class or individually
