Carson School has earned a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Through this grant, Carson School students will enjoy fresh fruits and
vegetables to sample each week, for free.
The goals of the FFVP are to:
- Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices
- Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience
- Increase children's fruit and vegetable consumption
- Make a difference in children's diets to impact their present and future health
Our FFVP days are Wednesdays and Fridays every week. Teachers will be sharing facts about each fruit and vegetables with the students as they eat their samples. Parents, ask your child what fruits or veggies they had at school and what they learned about the food.
Our students will be polling their favorite fruit and vegetables. We will post results as we tally them. See what fruits and vegetables are kid-favorites at Carson School.
Visit the links provided on the website for fun facts and recipes about each fruit and vegetable. These links will be online all school year to visit. Encourage your whole family to explore the tastes and benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables.
