Health may be defined as that state in which an
individual functions to the best of his/her capabilities physically,
intellectually, emotionally and socially. The
school has the opportunity and responsibility to influence the health of
students and their families. The
quality of a child’s learning is in direct proportion to their health status
and their ability to adapt to any limitations.
The primary goal of school health services is to strive for the optimum
level of wellness in every student so learning can be achieved.
