Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School consists of a multi-cultural student body of 222 students and a staff of 28, which includes a combination of certified and supportive personnel. Along with these cultural differences, our students come to us with an array of learning differences.
TEDDY BEAR DAY - Each year the school celebrates Theodore Roosevelt's birthday on Teddy Bear Day. Various academic and fun activities are coordinated between the staff and PTA. STUDENT of the MONTH - positive reinforcement activity for all children in kindergarten through fourth grade. Each teacher chooses one student per month to receive this distinction. The children's pictures are displayed, certificates are given, and the PTA provides pizza for their luncheon with the principal. BIRTHDAY RECOGNITION - Students are given a birthday pencil and a birthday acknowledgement from the principal. HONOR ROLL and PERFECT ATTENDANCE - Children are recognized for academic achievement and/or perfect attendance at the end of each marking period. Parents have a close working relationship with the school staff. The PTA is extremely active and provides many services for the children. Some of the activities provided for the children throughout the year are: book fairs, assemblies, Staff Appreciation Luncheon, pizza parties, skating parties, and field day. Parental involvement is an integral part of the Roosevelt School. Parents are welcome to visit the school at all times. We welcome their input into our school. Rosalyn Lawrence 856-662-8141 |
