I hope you spent the holiday vacation relaxing and enjoying time with your family. As we begin a new year, I look forward to our continued collaboration and partnership in further developing a culture of schools that celebrates and builds upon the strengths of our diverse students, families and community members. The Pennsauken School District is fortunate to have such diversity in student population for which we are very proud. We thank our parents/guardians for entrusting our wonderful educators in the education of their children. In moving forward, we will continue to engage parents and community members in conversations that are about improving student achievement. We appreciate and look forward to the many diverse contributions from our students and parents in helping us move our schools towards greatness. Together, we can expect our students to become strong communicators, critical thinkers and innovators of the twenty-first century and leaders in our communities and the world around us. In this new beginning, let us together as teachers, administrators, district staff, students, parents, and community members continue to show a high ethical standard of care for all students. Let us demonstrate high expectations with a positive attitude for our students’ aspirations and dreams. Together, we can serve as models of inspiration and help to foster their innate and diverse talents. In this New Year let us recommit to providing learning experiences that engage students in meaningful ways that increase student connectedness and engagement. Let us use our positions as teachers, administrators, parents, and community representatives to develop stronger relationships with our students that serve to empower and challenge them in rigorous instruction, and learning. Let our resolution be to work collaboratively with a mission to make the difference in our students’ success in academic achievement and learning outcomes. As we continue to strive for excellence, have a wonderful new year. I look forward to seeing you in our schools.Looking forward,Mrs. Marilyn MartínezSuperintendent
