Fine Elementary School

    We welcome you to George B. Fine Elementary School, home of the Fine Falcon!  For those of you who are new to the Fine Family, we are thrilled that you will be joining our school community.
    For Your Information: 
    • Pre-K Schedule
      • A.M. Session: 8:50 a.m. - 11:21 a.m.
      • P.M. Session: 12:45 p.m - 3:37 p.m.
    • Kindergarten to Fourth Grade Schedule
      • School begins at 8:50 a.m. daily. Breakfast begins promptly at 8:50 a.m. in the classroom and ends at approximately 9:05 a.m. 
      • Instruction begins at 9:07 a.m. Students are considered late for school after 9:05 a.m. 
      • Dismissal begins at 3:37 p.m. daily (except for half days). Any students not picked up by 3:45 p.m., will be brought to the Main Office for parent pick up. Please be prepared to show proper Identification to sign students out.
    To ensure that students are present in school and are given every educational opportunities, we strongly encourage them to maintain acceptable attendance, which includes being punctual to school. Letters will be issued for tardiness and excessive absenteeism. Please continue to instill the importance of coming to school daily and being on time! If students are ill, a doctor’s note must be provided in order to excuse the absence. Please view the website for Attendance Policy under the Parents tab.
    Additionally, please avoid picking up students early from school. Unless there is an emergency, an appointment, or communication from the school for students to be picked up, or other situations that qualify, students should not be picked up before dismissal at 3:37 p.m. Please keep in mind that when students consistently leave early, they are missing vital instruction, which could affect their grades and their overall understanding of the concepts taught in class.
    We hope that you will join us on this educational quest to cultivate Super Fine students. We look forward to your continued support and to working with you and with your children to make this a very exciting and productive school year!

    Second Grade

    3 marble notebooks (black, green, red)

    1 ruler (inches & centimeters)

    1 box of 24 crayons

    1 box of 12 colored pencils

    2 yellow highlighters

    2- 4oz. Bottles of Elmer’s glue


    Pencil sharpener

    1 sterilite pencil box (8x5)

    Book Bags:

    • Please label your child’s book bag with their name and room number.
    • Also, write a parent or guardian’s phone number inside the book bag for emergencies.
    • Please check your child’s school bag daily and remove all classroom work and school notices.
    • Personal toys, games, etc., are not permitted in school.
