Chromebook Policies
Pennsauken Schools Chromebook Agreement
Please see this link to view the Pennsauken Student Chromebook Policy.
Upon being issued a Chromebook purchased by Pennsauken Public Schools, students will have a “fee/fine” placed upon their record in Genesis of $250, which will be deleted upon return of the undamaged device in full working condition. Students and their parents/guardians also agree to the terms and conditions in the linked policy.
Please take special note of the following points in the chart:
- For security purposes, CIPA compliance, and to ensure academic integrity, students are not allowed to use personal devices on the Pennsauken Public Schools network. Students must use devices issued by Pennsauken Public Schools for all school related tasks while in our buildings. WiFi passwords will not be issued to students under any circumstances.
- Replacement devices will not be issued in the case of lost or stolen devices. In these cases, the borrowers would be responsible for payment of the $250 “fee/fine” before another device is issued
- Damaged devices should be reported to our Help Desk immediately. Cases of severe or repeated misuse could result in repair fees being assessed to the family. Further details are noted within the Pennsauken Student Chromebook Policy.

Student Safety Information
Pennsauken Public Schools aims to promote positive digital citizenship for all students, and resourses to help parents properly expose their school aged children to the Internet.
Within the school district, we employ the following safety and security measures on all student accounts and devices:
- GoGuardian
- GoGuardian is our web filtering tool for Chromebooks and student Google accounts. Through this platform, we can explicitly allow or deny any web activity as part of group or individual policies. This platform evolves daily, as not only they update their filters, but we update them based upon what we are seeing in addition to feedback from school staff.
- All student online activity is logged, some of which trigger alerts for review by administration.
- Students can be placed in a "penalty box" which restricts all online activity except for websites explicitly allowed by Pennsauken Public Schools (note: this option does fully restrict YouTube, even for academic purposes)
- Teachers can also monitor student online activity during their class, and set scenes to prevent students from being off task during academic time.
- Gaggle
- Gaggle actively monitors a student's Google educational suite (Drive, GMail, Docs, etc.) in real time. Any questionable content is sent for review 24 hours a day, which could trigger an alert to our adminstrative staff if it is deemed necessary.
- Gaggle's Incident Response Rubric sheds more light on this service.
- Firewall Protection
- Our firewalls filter all web traffic throughout the district as well.
