Dr. James Nesmith

 

 

Dr. James Nesmith has spent his entire career supporting students’ educational achievement. He joins the Pennsauken School District as the Assistant Superintendent of Per Pupil Personnel with a wealth of experience working with supported populations.

With more than 20 years of experience in education, Dr. Nesmith began his career on the Child Study Team before transitioning into educational leadership, where he served as both a Supervisor and Director. Most recently, Dr. Nesmith served as the Director of Pupil Services for the South Hunterdon Regional School District and also led the district’s preschool program. Throughout his career, Dr. Nesmith's leadership has led to improvements in instructional programming, inclusive practices, and mental health practices.

In 2018, Dr. Nesmith earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Wilmington University. Dr. Nesmith also holds administrative certificates for School Administrator, Principal, and Supervisor. Dr. Nesmith is a member of the New Jersey Association of School Administrators.

Dr. Nesmith believes education is the foundation for individual growth and strong communities. He is committed to creating learning environments where every student has access to quality instruction, meaningful opportunities, and the essential support to reach their potential. Dr. Nesmith leads with a focus on continuous improvement and building systems that inspire a lifelong love of learning for all students.
